Typical Duties
- Collaborate with environmental engineers and scientists to design
and implement solutions for environmental issues.
- Assist in conducting field investigations and data collection related
to air, water, soil, and waste management.
- Use specialized equipment and tools to analyze samples of air, water,
soil, and other environmental media.
- Perform laboratory tests and experiments to assess the impact of pollutants
and develop mitigation strategies.
- Assist in the development and implementation of environmental monitoring
programs.
- Prepare reports, maps, and charts detailing environmental data and
findings for review by engineers and regulatory agencies.
- Conduct site inspections to assess compliance with environmental regulations
and identify areas for improvement.
- Assist in the design and installation of environmental control systems
and remediation technologies.
- Provide support for environmental impact assessments and permitting
processes.
- Stay updated on environmental regulations, policies, and best practices
to ensure compliance and effectiveness of solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the company to integrate
environmental considerations into business decisions.
- Maintain accurate records of environmental data, reports, and project
documentation.
Experience and Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in Environmental Engineering Technology,
Environmental Science, or related field.
- Previous experience in an environmental technician or technologist
role is preferred.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations, policies, and guidelines related
to air quality, water quality, waste management, and sustainability.
- Familiarity with environmental monitoring equipment, sampling techniques,
and laboratory procedures.
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation using software such
as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and statistical tools.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical information
in reports and presentations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent
organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data collection, analysis, and
reporting.
- Understanding of safety protocols and procedures for fieldwork and
laboratory settings.
- Commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability principles.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, methods, and regulations
in the field.
